Effective praying? Just speak! Ask, acknowledge, and receive.
Open your heart and talk to God. I was taught by my one of my sponsors, to
pray for Gods will to be done and everyone involved to have acceptance of it.
I was taught to pray in the morning and ask for my Higher Powers Guidance
throughout the day to help keep me sober, and thank him at night for doing just
that. I had later in sobriety found a scripture that in Psalm 37.4 that
says, If we want to know what God wants for us, just ask. He will give us
the desires of our hearts, to lead us in the directions that we should go.
This has been a very important prayer in my life.
In Philippians, God tells us to look at the birds in the trees, and how they
don't have to warehouse their food, or worry where it will come from. He
says to look at the flowers on the ground and how magnificently they are
dressed. He says, "If I do this for the least of you, what do you think I
would do for you, who is my own?" I believe in that and survive on it.
If your not into "God", you may have a hard time with this page. Take what
you need and leave the rest. I did find some more information on effective
praying. I hope it helps.
Matthew 21:22
And all
things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, BELIEVING, ye shall receive.
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be
opened unto you: for every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh
findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened to you."
Matthew
7:7
In James 1:5-8,
Jesus said, "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives to all
men generously and without reproaching, and it will be given him. But let him
ASK IN FAITH, WITH NO DOUBTING, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea that
is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that a
double-minded man, unstable in all his ways, will receive anything from the
Lord."
So how does one ask if faith, with no doubting? Faith is of twofold;
· 1- Faith in
God and
·
2- Faith in
yourself.
Let us hold fast the profession of OUR faith without wavering for He is faithful
that promised.
Hebrews 10:23
We have all heard the expression, "I'll believe it when I see it". In
my life I have found that the expression more effective and accurate when put
into a new perspective: "I'll see it when I believe it". When you have
developed faith in yourself then you will believe it; hence you will see it.
To develop 'faith in yourself' it is most important to get your senses activated
in this quest. If you have faith in God and ask for a million dollars it is
there almost before you finish your request. However, if you do not have faith
in your worthiness or you can not imagine yourself with the million dollars then
you more than likely will not see the manifestation of your request. The
technique here is to assist you in developing and/or increasing that 'faith in
yourself', which will help you to manifest the best life has to offer.
